AIBU?

Aibu to have had two user names on another site?

I was a member on another chat forum and after been banned a couple of times for "daring" to question moderation or heaven forbid to speak my true opinion, I decided to create two user names, one where I could chat about everyday mundane topics and not have other posters drag up all my more controversial opinions from other more heated threads. Anyway I was quiet outspoken on a thread recently and insisted that I considered parents who let their older children (who has no illness/special needs) have soothers, were guilty of lazy parenting. Not only did they ban my outspoken account but also my normal one.
To be honest the site is pretty crap but there were a few posters on there whom I liked and we had a few ongoing discussions which I miss.

Anyway Aibu to think my quiet persona should have been left alone?

Caca
I was not outed
I emailed MNHQ to ask if I could use my real name (having been stuck with the "2" for a couple of years)
and I've never made any bones about TiP being my alter ego
after a bit of shenanegins TiP2 was closed (could do with having the pics deleted MNHQ) and I got my lovely TiP name back

Oh lord, I asked the admin to delete my posts not the thread, I had a lot of personal info on that thread and didn't like it been left on without me having the option to delete.
Rc admins probably deleted the whole thread to get a buzz going, it's been dead on there this last while.
I loved that thread as did many others, a lovely bunch posted on it, now it's gone I def will not be looking back.

FWIW
Mumsnet bans you from having a live account when another has been stopped from posting.
They just don't always communicate it clearly - and in my case took 2 years to notice my new account

Ebay is the only forum I know that has no limits at all on the number of IDs one can have

Why are you telling us what people posted on another site?

I couldn't care less tbh.

Some posters called them "dodies" that caused things to become extremely heated.

You summoned it up nicely frussohator, it's a pity it took me so long to see it and that I invested so much in one thread. Oh we'll lesson learned.

caca I ran stepped away from another site because I got stamped on disagreed with by a large number of other users.
I think you have learnt the same lesson I did. Some people will agree with you and others won't. A fight will usually insue when users differ, Often with other users adding wood to the fire, and at the end of the day the OP will still do what they want and so will others sometimes it's just best to let it go and walk away.

I never ever "ah Hun" it wouldn't matter what user name I had its not me.
It's a pity that many users on that site will not allow other posters to give a different opinion, as I said they usually resort to name calling, shouting troll and dragging the argument into the next thread you post on. If certain posters on that site acted more mature then I wouldn't have felt the need to give opinions under a different name.
I would never expect another poster to be thrilled to hear something critical about themselves but I would expect them to be able to hold a proper debate, sadly this is very much lacking on rc.

I think it's a bit pathetic and two faced tbh. Have the balls to say what you want yo say under your own username or don't say it all. I am a member the site you are talking about and you don't have aw hun at everyone, I certainly don't but at the same time if you want to call someone a lazy parent you can't expect that they are going to be thrilled to hear it. That's life no one wants their parenting choices judged. It is two faced though to aw hun on one thread and blast on another under another username.

I wouldn't have any interest in starting such a thread, the person who started it was apparently in bits because her child had managed to give it up herself at age 4. I agreed with someone else that it was well time for it to be gone, it went down hill from there.

No there are lots of true opinions on here.

Start a thread on lazy parents giving their older children dummies and see what happens.

You do need to verify the email account and turning off the wifi not working. I know if I were bothered I could get around it but I am done.
Usual suspect, is giving a true opinion considered rowdy on here too?
I want to be clear I was not trolling by any means just sometimes giving a different opinion for example there was a thread where the op asked if it was ok to let her four year old play out on the green unwatched, another poster said no four was too young and the op was been negligent and should wait until her child was five like she did with her little one. I pointed out that five was very young too and I thought this was negligent, it went down like a tonne of bricks, lots of name calling and following around ensued, this is what I was trying to avoid with the second user name.
I am making myself laugh now, I really don't know why I didn't get out sooner. Lol
