Today we had a breeze and was much better. So managed to do some overdue cleaning which required crouching - now both groins are aching.
Also, my reduced eating due to loss of appetite/heat, and extra fizzy energy drinks has played havoc with my digestive system Confused.

My bedroom was much hotter today as the breeze came from the opposite direction and felt awful after my hour's kip in the afternoon.
It's 26 in there atm.
Best part of the day was 6am dog walk for 30 minutes < in a batwing belted animal print top that I've had for ages and never got round to wearing until this morning Smile>

Totally disagree - find lovely weather puts people in a good mood.

Then again, maybe because I'm in a good mood, people react positively to me whereas those who are feeling awful promote similar responses from those they meet.

Try teaching 30 kids in a classroom that is 31 degrees...

Yanbu, i get in a foul mood when im hot, and worse when i havent slept due to sweatiness. I also look awful, which pisses me off.
The kids at work have been foul too this week, they are so ratty because they are hot and sweaty and tired. Not good when i am ratty too!! I have really had to bite my tongue a lot this week, as i know they are normally lovely, but a combination of tiredness, heat and the upcoming holidays has transformed them into demons :(
Bring on the autumn!! Cant wait til i can wear jeans and boots again....and sleep properly.

I have had a two hour nap and feel worse.

I'm going to spread my crabbiness over the boards I think.

Och me too Clara. Grim.

Tired and hot, yup, toddlers, you do have a point.

I'm now feeling so crabby I want to cry like a toddler. I don't want to eat, drinking is a chore, the sunlight makes me screw my eyes up it's so bright and I just want people to leave me the fuck alone.

And I had three hours sleep or thereabouts last night.

Oi who are you calling grumpy Angry

:o

I think I am grumpy because I've got no energy to do anything and haven't had a good nights sleep for ages because of the heat. I only have to look at the sun to burn!

I love it when it's sunny though, but when it's about 18 degrees or a crisp cold sunny winters day.

I'm convinced there is more crime in hotter parts of the globe.

I have no evidence to back this up, but I'm with CombineBananaFister's DH.

Cross, no energy... me AND the dogs both.

And I can't even bloody sleep at night either. I remember the heatwave in 2006, heavily pregnant with DS and lying flat out on the sofa, cold flannels all over me. It was bloomin awful. Both DCs are STILL awake upstairs. Gah.

Took her out at 6.30 this morning and was tolerable. Just been out at 7pm, but she was huffing and puffing < and me> so back already.
There was a slight breeze when coming back from the NE, but not really refreshing, but better than nothing like last evening. She is still panting indoors after drinking fresh water, poor thingSad

Waiting for it to cool down enough to take little dog for a short walk, but still too hot and humid.

I am expiring in this suffocating heat, but was fine this morning in the cold air-conditioned dance hall - HEAVEN- for 2 hours.

My bedroom is the hottest it has been since 2006 at 28 degrees and I had trouble sleeping then. Doubt it will cool down by the time I collapse into bed at 10pmHmm

Lynnette that's exactly how I am, brain not able to cope.

Today I went to aqua aerobics based on it being cool ish exercise. Then I came home and showered, applied fake tan (the gradual, invisible spray type) and had to hair dry my body as I had no idea if the spray was still wet or if it was sweat. I then went to some small effort with my hair. After an hour or so I applied a spray-oil sun cream. Over my shoulders and down exposed back. And hair.

I really loathe the heat, especially as I am working all the time it fucking feels that way anyhow. I wear a fairly thick uniform of polyester top and heavy cotton twill bootcut trousers and sturdy shoes. We do have air conditioning, unfortunately it doesn't help when you are in the front window of the shop where it's fking baking, or if you have to go upstairs there is no air con/airflow even with all the windows open. I have a four day contract. I would love to only do my four days, I might actually start enjoying the sun on one of my days off as I have to get everything else sorted the other two and try and fit in an occasional train visit to my mother as well.

On my days off I sit in the house, where we keep the curtains closed permanently to stay cool.

Oh, and I am not very well either at the minute. Have just got my voice back after laryngitis and I appear to have a chest infection. Joy.

I am torn. I love the sun but hate the heat - cold, fresh,SUNNY, Autumn mornings are my favourite time.

My DH has a theory about temperature and the level of peace/cohesion around the world which he likes to share with me frequently Hmm He says that countries with extreme climates affect how the population deal with their issues.

Too hot=quick tempers and more conflict.
Too cold = can't be arsed to argue, it's freezing, get inside and get warm.

Not sure if this stands up and am painfully aware that this reduces the worlds political/religious conflicts to the weather being a bit shit.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY DHs THEORY. HE HAS MANY AND THEY ARE NOT ALL GOOD. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE OFFENCE - HE MEANS WELL Blush

It's making me very grumpy - I sweat easily and the slightest exertion in this heat sees my face streaming, really horrible feeling and embarrassing too.

Another grumpy pants here - thought it's stuff going on, rather than the weather. The heat doesn't help though.

I can confirm that a rice krispie cake made with melted mars bar and chilled to perfection definitely cheers up the consumer though.
