AIBU?

To expect O.H to spend some time with our 3 DCs before flying off to France for work?

Rather than sitting on our bed talking to me about sliding wardrobe doors when I had just woken up, had no opinion on the matter and aching from top to toe after doing "the shred" (now known as "the dread") for the first time yesterday ? Then when I got up to get DCs ready for school (with 45mins before we had to leave) as he obviously wasn't , he had a major moan about my lack of interest. AIBU or does this often happen to you?

I think it's sweet that you think it's sweet that he wanted to spend time with me before he went. Actually he is obsessing about these bloody sliding doors and he wants me to give him the go ahead to make them himself A.K.A adding them to the list of jobs in the house he wants to do himself, but never finishes. It has been 6 years and our house still resembles a builders yard and clouds I never once mentioned being presentable, on time Yes presentable No

Are you just annoyed you were the one who got the DCs ready?

How long is your DP going to France for?

Unless they are all very young, getting DC ready for school does not really call for a huge amount of adult involvement surely?
And any adult involvement is likely to be functional (e.g. brushing hair) rather than quality time.
So having a conversation with you is perfectly reasonable.

Getting them ready for school isn't exactly quality father child time though is it?

YANBU to think he may have helped if you are going to struggle while he is away for some reason, but YABU to think he should have done it just for the sake of spending time with the children.

I'm just amazed that you can get yourself and three children presentable and fed in 45 minutes before you have to leave for school.

Maybe he wants to spend time with you before he flies off to France. It's very sweet actually.
