AIBU?

Fecking pound shops!

I am 40 years old. I know I should know better, but, I bought 6 solar garden lights today.

Obviously they were £1 each. I planted them strategically to light up our garden path. Only one out of the six works,

AIBU to think that £6 for one light is expensive and should I take the non working ones back?

I also owe an apology to my local pound shop for slagging off their crappy merchandise.

It wasn't the lights that were crap, it was me. I take it all back Blush

I bought a solar light from the pound shop two years ago and it didn't work....tomorrow I'm going take it out of the shed and look for plastic strips and on/off switches. Good thread !

My spelling has gone out of the window along with my common sense Grin

I need to stop grinning like a loon but I am still chuckling to myself about my sheer stupidity.

I'm so glad I don't know you all in RL, I am ashamed!

I am very pleased to announced that there are 6 solar lights brightly shining along the pathway of Shaky Towers!

This thread has been illuminating Grin

Thank you all for saving me from looking a prat in the pound shop.

Pedro I was not aware that pound land treated their staff so badly. Sad

I've recently learned Poundland treat their employees v badly and abuse the job seekers scheme so if stuff doesn't work- take it back and don't feel bad about it!!! Just cos its cheap doesn't make it acceptable.

I'm so glad for this thread!

My mam bought a couple last week and keeps asking me if they're working but I keep forgetting to look on a night time!

However, I'll check tonight and if not I'll check the label Wink

can you imagine the sniggers if you had taken them back to the shop and been shown how to switch them on!

I love things like this.

DH used to work for Comet.

He had very aggressive people coming back to him shouting that their brand new kettle didn't have a power lead. He opened the lid and the customer muttered thanks and scuttled fro the shop.
