and let me watch Homes Under The Hammer in peace.

He's ill. He's lying all over the couch groaning and it's getting on my wick.

He's even bought a duvet downstairs

Just go to bed already!!!!!

I'm ill. I'm in bed, DH is downstairs doing the housework. If I need something I use the intercom on the phone, it makes a loud shrill until he picks if up. I might be using it more than is necessary!

Oh God don't get me started on this. It brings out a really awful, passive aggressive side to me as well because you don't want to be actively critical of someone with man flu/a phantom bad back in case it turns out to be real.

if I am honest i am a bit of a winger that is probably why i go to bed

I hate groaners, and I'm one of them! I have to send myself off to bed when I'm ill even if I'm well enough for the sofa just to stop myself annoying everyone in the house.

YANBU, he's being an inconsiderate wuss!

except he won't.

People don't groan if they don't have an audience. Grin

Set up something to record him.

You'll see Grin

DH was ill over the weekend so he did the obvious thing and did some gardening...
He came in when he had finished and poured himself onto the sofa groaning and coughing like a 60 a day man, fell asleep there and came to bed at about 3am. I just left him there and got on with it!
Rinse and repeat on Sunday only in a bad mood, the rest of us went out for the day...

I'm missing it, I'm gutted!

HUTH is my guilty secret, I can't tell him I watch it Grin

I'm going out in a little while so he can groan to his hearts content.

YABU

If he goes upstairs, he won't be able to groan and be ill at you.

He will have to bang on the floor periodically and call you upstairs so he can tell you it hurts.

Grin

When my DH is ill he carries on like a martyr but just moans the whole time, and makes pathetic little groaning noises. If I suggest that he perhaps - shock horror - takes a paracetamol, or goes and has a lie down, he looks at me as if I've grown a second head. And then carries on moaning.

YANBU at all. Can you go out at all to escape his man-flu moaning?

If my children are too ill to go to school then they have a tv ban and stay in bed for the entire morning, if not the whole day! If I am too ill to go to work I go to bed asap and stay there, same rules apply to my DH. YANBU

maybe suggest he lies down in bed and you will bring him up a cup of tea or something

We do have a TV upstairs, but it's little, and the reception is crap

Duvet downstairs is definately the worst part of it. I have a thing about duvets downstairs.

Caja - you're on your own, you're not impeding anyone's Homes Under The Hammer viewing - you're definately not unreasonable Grin

I'm ill. I've been in bed forever. Being in bed isn't helping. I've got up and got dressed, and I'm sitting on the bed at the moment. I'll go sit on the sofa in a bit. I'm fed up, and feel rubbish, and bored of bed.

No one else is here, though, and I haven't taken the duvet anywhere. Maybe I'm being slightly less unreasonable?

Sugarice · 25/04/2013 10:06

He's brought the duvet down Shock ooh he's looking for tea and sympathy off you then and to be his fetcher and carrier. Grin

You could not be more reasonable if you tried. There is nothing worse than an "ill" man who is well enough to lie on the sofa groaning.
