On every thread about hen dos the vast majority of posters say how they hate 'traditiinal' hen dos. I realise mn isn't necessarily representative if el, but just wondering how so few mners can like what seems to be the norm.is anyone willing to say they enjoy avoid "l plates" hen do?

I assume they appeal to council house tenants?

It is your hen do, not your friends. Real friends do not scorn what you want to do and call it boring even if they think it.

Somebody mentioned the chippendales and not finding them sexy?

I have never found normal male strippers at all sexy, infact, turned me off with in your face vulgarity.
But I saw the original 1970's chippendales on stage on TV and they were super sensual, trained gymnastic dancers/performers actors and could use their bodies to express genuine sensual sexyness.

Even my mum was flushed in her face and me all over. They were mesmerising.

I was early 30s but I had a hen weekend in Bournemouth. I kind've imagined a beautiful hotel where we could just hang around in lovely bars but we ended up in Fawlty Towers (it had iron marks on the carpet people) and going to a tragic club that came with the deal. Also I'd said to my friends "I don't mind a bit of tat" and my hens took it literally, I've never seen so many willy shaped tat in my life. Obviously the willy boppers were the highlight but also the flacid stress penis you could squeeze which was I have to say I was fascinated by (boak). No matching t'shirts or stetsons though for the hens though, just me dressed up in bride-to-be stuff.

We had a lot of fun, I think all the better for the willies (we decided it must be some kind of primal fertility thing too) and not being in a posh hotel. My most snobby friend (works in fashion yah) said "Oh my god I'm having the best time ever", after previously being a bit sneery about the hotel. And I think the tat provided a talking point for my friends, some of whom didn't know each other beforehand.

But I am a bit of a snob about groups of hens/stags dressed in the same outfits - it's just all a bit weird.

But chandon, that is the first thing everyone on these threads says "oh I didn't have a traditional veil/l plates/stripper one". That's why I think its the norm!

AF - i'm a bit inclined to over think as well sometimes Wink

and it strikes me that it's all a bit fertility rights'ish ..... the willies and stuff, y'know?

Humanity really hasn't come far from the cave when you start thinking about these things. I think it when i see blokes chanting at football matches ..... tribal stuff.

Anyway, as you were ....

I wouldn't have a stripper either.

There are better places to put willies than on your head Wink

My cousin had a meal followed by drinks and dancing for her hen night. People could either do one or both. It's probably what I would do if I ever got married. I couldn't be doing with l plates/willies/fancy dress although shots would be fine.

Ehm, OP, the norm? Really?

Depends what sort of people you hang out with, lots of my friends did not have hen do's, most consider it a bit common.

I think.

I like sashes, tiaras etc for my own I want a veil thingy, I dunno I think they make good photos,
And I've noticed on fancy dress night outs people are more relaxed and the atmosphere is more cheery. I think on dressy nights out people are more focused on how they look and a bit more uptight.
Not a huge stripper fan though, I've said I don't mind strip clubs but private dance no, I think its disrespectful tbh.

But I'm mid 20's so maybe its an age thing?

There is definitely a gap in the market for an 'alternative' male stripper. I've never met anyone who fancies orange, walnut shaped men, but lots who fancy athletic/indie/beardy various other types.

Yes it is a bit reedickulous, and we were a right bunch of dickheads. I even had willy paper plates for our sandwiches. It's amazing the amount of penis paraphernalia that is available!!

I went to a hen weekend recently, including fancy dress (not willy themed) and a cocktail class, at a spa hotel. Had a brilliant time, although I was the only sober one being pregnant :) Think strippers would have freaked me out though, I just don't feel the need to see that on a stranger!
