They take up so much room! Surely a smaller animal would work better? You'd have room for family photos and commemorative plates too.

Maybe cats or turtles would work better. Or a hamster if you live in a flat.

I used to live in Cardiff and there was a cigar shop in one of the Victorian arcades. No one knew the name, everyone knew it as the bear shop because it had a stuffed grizzly bear in the window.

Someone who used to live in our village had a big crocodile (or alligator) head on their wall (you could see it when you went past). At Christmas it used to wear a Santa hat! As much as I don't normally like heads on walls this for some reason used to make me smile

Oh god Bendy, she is very like my boyo! Please don't refer to my taste as "girly", I've just died inside a little bit.

And Hully, just when I thought I couldn't think you were more super tops trumps, you tell us you have an OWL! I need a stuffed owl, to go in my... erm, erm, anywhere!

I think I will take this thread with a pinch of salt [and pepper, and, do people eat deer?]

Have you heard of Emma Hawkins? She's an antique dealer who specialises in taxidermy. I would spend so much money in her shop. Plus I'm a tiny bit in love with her Blush

I thought the reason to have a stag head on the wall was so when you do the knicker flick with your foot, as you take off your undercrackers your knickers have somewhere to display themselves, if you fail to catch them on your head.

thesecretsanta Mine to. Except mine is a library. Like the one in Beauty and the Beast. But with Dark Green wallpaper and dead things on the walls

I'd have to have a strokeable one. Otherwise I'd probably keep knocking on the glass asking if it had enough air...

Or how about a nice girly one

HullyEastergully · 07/12/2012 11:29

I couldn't, but thank you.

Also, it's in a glass dome so not very strokable

hully if you ever want rid of it I'd be happy to sit and stroke it all day :)

I'd actually really like a study with oxblood leather armchairs and a huge globe and some dead animals.

It's part of my "lottery" house. Next door to my arcade.

I inherited my owl, trouble is, it would seem heartless to get rid of it, it looks at me with its great owly eyes

It's fashion innit. It's the same reason why people had macrame plant holders with spiderplants and lava lamps in the 70's. People will look back in 20 years and think 'why the fuck did we have a fake dead animal skull on our wall and why did we have words plastered over everything like we forgot what to do - Cook, Live, Bathe, Love etc?'.

That would be a great showpiece in a nursery. Not sure how legal human taxidermy is though?

Could be used a toddler climbing frame, and possibly a dining table
