How much time do you spend on MN? And are you happy with that or do you feel guilty about it?

I am a relatively new addict mumsnetter and I have noticed a definite deterioration in the tidiness of the house recently! Should I step away from the computer now before it's too late??

I have an hour or two a day of "me time" while my eldest is at school and the other two are asleep (until DD finally drops her nap!). I also indulge in the evening if DH is out for drinks after work or watching the football or if there is a particularly interesting thread. And there are the odd moments on my iPhone thoroughout the day. I reckon I must have spent around 7 hours on it in the past week!

I am seriously addicted since being made redundant. I do the house clean and stick the washing on when I get up, sort out what's for tea or go shopping THEN i am free to MN as long as I want, DS1 and 2 are at school / college or in their rooms / out with friends etc and DH always seems to be busy sorting out stuff on the computer after tea so its my way of having some conversation as otherwise I would be spending a great deal of my life not interacting with anyone. RL does however get in the way take precedent sometimes. Smile

I agree exactly with antarctic. MN is the most brilliant way of getting objective, anonymous parenting advice ever though. This week it has been hugely helpful to me. I do worry that I am addicted though so might have to make up some rules for myself.

Unless I am out I usually come on whilst breastfeeding, DS feeds every two hours!

Friday and most Saturday nights. DP is a part time DJ, and DD is usually asleep by 7 (as she is now) so it's my substitute for the social life I used to have! Grin very occasionally pop in during the week, but have restricted that since I realised what a tip my house was becoming!

I spend a shocking amount of time on here at the minute Blush. First discovered mumsnet when I was pregnant, but since DS was born have found AIBU, ridiculously addictive! Mat leave finishes in a few weeks though Sad don't know how i'll have time to get my fix then Grin.

I spend lots of time on here. I was addicted but now I can leave it for a while and not be bothered. I see it as company.

Lower your housework standards Wink

It'll only be in the same state the day after you've done it all anyway.

Probably an hour and a half to two hours a day... maybe more if something interesting is going on.

My habits of when I go on and for how long, as well as the kind of trheads I find interesting have changed so much though through PG and now DD growing up. There are phases when I get bored of it, but I always come back. Grin

And I do more housework than when I started! But probably only because DD makes so much more mess and laundry and I can't get away with not doing it... darn her crumb making abilities.

Honeydragon - exactly.

I think we all know that feeling of being addicted especially in the event of smartphones. You check emails/texts/websites etc, you feel itchy if you haven't got your phone with you, you say you won't go on such and such a website all day but you only last half an hour!

I think internet addiction is as real as any other addiction, it just isn't as harmful (well MN addiction isn't, porn sites might be a wee bit of a problem for example!) as drink or drugs.

I 'came off' MN for about six months once because I felt I was on it too much and also some posters were driving me fucking crazy!

Now I pop in and out and I LOVE my Sat and Sunday hour long sessions while the dc watch crap telly.

in OTBT is the wolef lair, its a quiche thread but all are welcome some visitors stick around and become wolefs.

wolef comes from a spelling mistake on a wolf fleece slagging thread, the random 'j's that are sometimes dropped comes from a few wolefs being called bjitches by a poster in a huff - she was apparently unaware that you can swear on MN.
