The bit where the French walked in arrowhead formation towards the Haka was a bit of a surprise, wasn't it!

It was a very nervy match from both sides, I think - not the best rugby I've seen at the world cup this year - but still a satisfying result for the All Blacks.

I bet that the hangovers are epic!!

Berluddy hell - that was the least enjoyable 80-minute preamble to a world cup win EVER!!!!!

Nerves are shredded. Voice is hoarse. But we did it.

The boys were so nervous. But the stadium was as well. Bad combination.

But we did it. Scenes of carnage and revelry in downtown Auckland afterwards - Queen Street a sea of black. A nation nursing hangovers this morning, and a palpable sense of relief pervades! [hsmile]

oh, boys names - I like Tamati, but not because of the weather man, although he is I'm sure a very nice man!

haha

Yes, I keep telling people that NZ can never ever loose to the French as a matter of national pride while they stare at me blankly.

I hadn't thought of Manu - I like it, very pronouncable for the English.

Boys names

I like:
Manu
Hemi
Wiremu
Tama
Riwi

Half way through the second half I was reduced to lecturing DD about the Rainbow Warrior in an effort to distract myself. Bless her, she decided that today she will only answer to her (Maori) middle name. which her english father struggles to pronounce properly

Rougerie for me too...just the name is enough! Oh, and I thought France were the sexier better team too so there :)

I was glued to the tv this morning - I even forsook my normal lie-in in order to cheer on the All Blacks. Though, of all the players on the field, Rougerie has definitely got the greatest whoooooaarrrrr factor. I'd even step over Jonny Wilkinson's prone form to get to Rougerie. Grin

We were over for the pool and 1/4 final stages (OH is 1/2 Kiwi), and am most jealous and sad that we're not still there. Great result - and I had a wee tear too. Well done those boys!

DD is pretty gorgeous but sadly ineligible to play for the AB. I am pinning all my hopes on this boy! (I'm prepared to be flexible, he doesn't HAVE to play rugby if he really doesn't want to. But he must like it Grin)

ZacharyQuack · 23/10/2011 10:53

Te, it must be Richie surely? Or Ma'a, of course.

Ooh, don't know any kiwi names TeWihara, congratulations though, he's bound to be gorgeous with that heritage (although god help him if he comes out not liking rugby Grin)

ITV coverage has been utterly crap, our signal has been dropping in and out all game, I missed the try at the beginning and only realised we'd won when I saw sad french faces Grin

Hate ITVs coverage with all these ads though - would like to be seeing the team celebrating.

Right... what should we name the little dual-national kiwi-welsh boy currently in utero????

He MUST have a kiwi name now. It is decreed.
