don't know whether to put this here but it's bugging me. People who use 'love' to refer to women when they disagree with them. 'All right love...' kind of thing. Usually men but sometimes women do this as well.

I use petal and flower, but very selectively, and I call most of DS and DD's friends sunshine when I can't remember their names.

I am afraid it affects me selectively depending on who is calling me what!

I also hate glib compliments. But that's another story...

But I don't think I use it in that slightly sarcastic way, I do know what you mean.
