AIBU?

To think it might have been suicide

I am wondering if it was drugs or suicide that took Amy, she was being booed off stage and her boyfriend had recently finished with her, or should I just keep my thoughts to myself?

Of course no parent deserves to have their childs death speculated about - but it will happen, especially with someone in the public eye like Amy and whos problems have been so well documented.

Well, yes, it may well have been suicide. But then again it may well not have been. No-one knows just yet either way & the tragedy of a death of someone so young remains no matter what the final cause Sad.

No, they probably aren't, but these are opinions that are going to make it into mainstream media. (I don't mean specifically MN opinions) And no parent desrves their DC's death speculated about so easily.

Don't it is awful for you to have found out that way, your parents were probably trying to protect you. I'm sure Amy's parents or family aren't on here right now.

YANBU to suspect that, but YABU to make your opinion public. The last thing anyone ever wants is the public speculating the death of someone they care about.

I found out my Uncle had commit suicide through idle gossip at school. I was ten at the time. To hear someone you love having their mode of death discussed is pretty damn traumatising.

ILT Grin Don't you just love them.

noddy to advice someone to do something more constructive with their day, when they are posting on MN, shouldn't really be the advice given by someone else who is posting on MN. Grin

Those who are dismissing this thread seem to be posting more than others, hence keeping the thread bumped up active convos!!

We are not both doing the same thing. Reread your OP not my style (hides thread) another one!

It's best to keep some thoughts to yourself, instead of posting them on a public forum.

Speculating on the cause of death of a young woman is one of those times.

sleep I think it does go to show just how hard it must be to come off drugs. She had everything financially, lived in a £2m+ home but still couldn't get off them. I hope some good comes of this in that youngsters will look at her and think twice before starting on drugs.

of course it was suicide one way or another

she must have been warned thousands of times she wouldnt last long on that lifestyle, but she either thought oh well hey ho, or i will start getting clean tomorrow, or no not me, I am invincible. Whatever, she had the means and opportunity to get help but chose not to.

OP has formed an opinion - or in this case surmising - because she is human, and we all do it to various degrees about things. It looks as if some of you here think its wrong - fair enough, but in my opinion its not "right" or "wrong" just human nature. Im sure suicide has crossed lots of peoples minds - why shouldnt it be discussed - this is a discussion board after all.

Well done on forming an opinion based on tabloid fodder.

But really, how is it any of your business? If it were suicide it would be reported as so.

It's unexplained as yet so you might be right. Even if it is an overdose it still might be deliberate, only she knows and she can't tell us now.
