that they will not say that "I think it is a bit too much land for us" or " I didn't realize 118 acres looked like that"!! Well why the bloody hell are you looking at it then!!!!

When we were selling our house several viewers complained it was too far from the station. It hadn't moved since they decided to view our house, so I tended to assume they just didn't like the house and dredged up the first lame excuse that came to mind.

But yanbu, selling huge landed estates is just SO tedious these days. Especially when one is up to ones eyeballs already in cataloguing ones diamond tiara collection.

Very generous of you, los.

Now we just need to win the Euromillions to afford the petrol.

s'ok tin and mrsk you can borrow my petrol one - shouldn't take too long over the 6000000 acres.

Grin at MrsKravitz

DP is coveting a 6 000 000 acre property in Argentina. It's dirt cheap, apparently. It's almost twice the size of the the country we currently live in. I may need to borrow your extension cable...

Is it 118 acres of grazing land, or is it farmed or parkland or what? Does it include the garden? Want to SEE.

Just been looking at a 1 000 000 acre property in australia.

Think we are going to need an extension cord for the mower.

Now, the Chipping Norton set is of far more interest to me than 118 acres in France, probably because it is up the road from me. Which, according to this article probably means I live in the Channel Islands. Smile

No - the OP is right. If it is property 514, it says 20 hectares which is about 50 acres, plus the opportunity to rent 20 (ie 50 Acres) more. Which kind of adds up.

Isn't that always the way when you are selling - you will get lots of people just turning up for a day out - especially as it is such a beautiful house.

(Your thread title is a bit poncey though, OP. Sorry. Just saying.)

Maybe they say "Ididn't realise 118 acres looked like that" because you only have 18? Hmm and they are expecting it to be much bigger?

I clicked on the link and control F'd the property number 514.
It has the land in hectares which equates to 17.8 acres so I don't know what you are going on about.
It's the house bear Falaise right?

OP - could it be you have it on with a crap agent who isn't making the amount of land clear to people interested in buying? Or saying to people who've said "that's too much land" something like "go have a look for comparison to X Y and Z properties that are on for the same amount."

but I can oooo and ahhhhh.

Casa.it hits the spot for that. I spend hours on there dribbling and dreaming.

I wanna be in Lecce, not poxy, damp, mosquito ridden Lomellina

Well, if people who are interested in buying, are saying its too much land - its too much land!!

Either wait for someone who wants the land, or make the land smaller to sell with the house, and turn the rest into wildflower fields for the wildlife - sorted!

Look, I'll take it off your hands, if you like. We can do one w/e every few months if we visit all our places in rotation.
How many staff bedrooms?

Anyone with property to sell in Italy???

Fancy a Cascina in deepest, darkest Lomellina ?

Probably not. Everybody likes that bloody Tuscany.

oops I tell a lie, it's the other way round, I reckon you're looking at about 90-100 pitches. Still bloody big!

Report
sparkle12mar08 · 17/07/2011 15:09

Have had a quick hunt around, an acre is marginally gigger than a UK football pitch, so you're looking at land of over 120 football pitches. That's fucking huge!!!!
