Agree that bin needs to be lined. Bathroom waste is usually germy and/or sticky.

I will review my bin practice. Until now, the worst thing my bin has seen is a fairtrade, organic cotton wool pad.

We live in a little block of flats, so I pop down to the dustbin and put them straight in. I'm really anal about it since my parents didn't have a bathroom bin and insisted this stuff went in the wastepaper basket in my room (boak). But I would guess anyone who uses a mooncup will also have a bathroom bin that doesn't really get messy waste in it.

The can be useful if you get super horny and soaking wet thinking about your dh around ovulation time. I don't bother with panty liners though I just change my knickers a couple of times a day if needed.

I used to use them as my sanitary protection before I had a couple of minor ops to repair adhesions in my uterus caused by Ashermans Syndrome. I didn't really need anything more, but needed something iyswim.

Very bizarre that you (a) don't use a bin liner (b) leave a guest's bin unchanged for, ooh, a month and then (c) come online to advertise this?

I use one occasionally, at damper times of the month. And based on the number of ladies I've examined there today, I'd say about 25% were using one NOT during a period. Usually it's when they have enough discharge to feel a bit uncomfortable and want to be able to change a pad without changing pants.

I use them. Habe a mirena coil which means i get about two days of spotting a month. Not enough to use a tampon but need something to protect underwear

I don't see the point either and all that plasticness in your knickers just leads to more moisture and that strange dirty pantyliner/sanitary towel smell imo.

I'm also not sure why using a bin liner and changing that is more hygenic than emptying a bin and washing it out??

Well this language student is well within her rights to use PL even if you don't see the point in them. I think while she is staying with you line the bin and you wont have to deal with unsticking anything unsavory!
