A blogger friend and MNetter is spending today missing her daughter Anabelle, who was born sleeping on 21st June 2010.

She is also gearing up for the weekend, when she will be hosting a fundraiser to support the charity SANDs. She and her husband have already raised over £1000 for the charity which supports bereaved parents and finances research into stillbirth and SIDs.

Her blog is here

And the fundraising page is here.

Please, if you can afford it this month, would you donate even a small sum in memory of Anabelle and the other 6500 children who died either at birth or within 4 weeks of birth.

And if you are on FB, or Twitter, please pass the blog link to your friends.

CazandBelle that is fantastic. Have you also looked at the countthekicks campaign that is trying to raise awareness of monitoring feotal kicks to help reduce the number of stillbirths?

I know this thread is very old now, but I just wanted to come back and let everyone know who had been kind and donated to Sands for Anabelle that our final figure has finally been confirmed today.

Santander finally got around to sending their wonderful 3500 contribution, and with everything else counted up as well a massive:

£9320.74

has been sent to Sands in Anabelle's name. Thank you everyone who helped us get there and showed so much interest. It feels like a proper little legacy for our baby girl. We know that Sands will put it to good use continuing to support other bereaved families and hope it'll make a difference to their research to stop future babies dying.

Caz xx

Yeh weather was ok, spat rain on and off but on the whole cloudy but dry enough!

The day has been so emotional and overwhelming but I'm on such a high! I thought I would be asleep by now because I've hardly slept all week but I'm so wowed and flabbergasted that I'm actuall quite awake!

Just blogged about today, will be making up my list of thank you's and links tomorrow to nod to everyone who donated prizes, contributed and helped make today such a success. There are so many I will have to try very hard not to unintentionally miss anyone out!

I'm absolutely gobsmacked and feeling very excited and emotional to announce that as of tonight (with plenty more still to collect from various places and the promise of part-matched donation from Santander) including pre-sold raffle tickets, justgiving online donations, money raised at my friends event at the same time today, everything we raised at fete today, our sponsored walk last week and various other cash donations we've been given offline, our SEMI FINAL total of fundraising for Sands in Anabelle's name is:

£4948.37

Beyond anything I could've dreamed of. I'm so in awe of everyone who has supported us. And I thought £500 was ambitious when we started this venture! Thank you Mumsnetters for helping us reach such an amazing total! xx

I cannot wait to collect the rest and announce the final final figure after Santander have sent their money!

I will be sure to come and update this thread with our actual total after everything has been collected and counted! :D

This was on my radar as it's on my MN local box, (not usually much on there).

I don't live too far away, so hope to go on Saturday.

Another waiting for payday to come, DH gets paid Saturday though.
