Harpoboy this thread is 2 and half years old. Why have you ressurected it?

And FYI the HousePriceCrash forum seems to be alive and well and still going strong here

Report
HarpoBoy · 15/02/2013 17:14

Do HPC still exist? Are they still holding out for a House Price Crash. No evidence of that here in Harpenden, I can tell you

To be honest, though. I'm not on a low income (above national average anyway) and it would take me nearly three years' salary saved for a deposit for a London flat. It's fairly common for those on low incomes to rent - which is not to say it doesn't suck, and we all have tales of mould, damp and mice - but when professionals too can't afford to buy something is a bit wrong.

Meanwhile I have to rent a room in a shared place, in which I can't paint the walls, put up pictures, or have pets, and be asked to leave at a month;s notice. It's those things that make me want my own place - I don't give a shit about 'investment' or 'the property ladder', I just want to spend my money doing my own thing rather than feathering the nest of a BTL landlord.

Great struggles lie ahead, with
only our sense

Obviously, you have to get this

Simple solutions will not be found,
creating a sense of panic

Radical steps are required - will

My need to secure a future, my
understanding of the nature of things,
my desire to see equality and fairness, my
shock and horror at the world,
none of these things are relevant,
each must find their own way that works for
them

Light will be shone on dark places
and we will all see, then we can
damn those that destroyed our dreams,
I for one look forward to the day
everyone knows the truth, the
secrets that were hidden

And so, you ask, what is
relevant, what matters to

Read the signs indeed
understand what they say
never underestimate the troll.

Prepare the tuna
increase the baked bean storage capicity
check the can openers are sharp
keep the bunker well stocked
invest in well oiled
tinfoil, and
double up on gold
or else when we
want it it will
not be sufficient.

Truly the problems we
have to contend with are
egregious and vexing.

Laugh at us they might with their
owner occupier status but we
canny renters in our one bed flats
are the clever ones, although I'd
like a bit more storage
space for the canned goods I'd admit.

However, that is a distraction
apropos the main event - the
verisimilitude of which I can
expound herein

Craven are those who
regale us with tales of
an unsustainable future.
com ical their inexcusible
kleptocracy of user poaching
entertaining the pictionary thread is but
deviate not from the right way.

Out of our strength and mighty resolve an
umbrella of protection will
rain down upon them.

Soon, hard work will pay off
evermore and for all time with the
creation of a paradise on the net free of
rambunctious skint academics,
errant igneous rocks and
tremulous ladyboy god pasta.

Come, PID keep the faith
oral traditions are strong. The
donkeys back in not yet broke.
exalt and rejoice in the new world order.

On this issue one thing remains clear -
Hard work is required

I know this

Can I explain why?
Another mystery that must remain,
not unlike the issuea
that we face

Simple seem the problems we face,
plentiful seem the solutions.
Easily we will fix society they say
Let me see you try, I say
Let me watch you fail

Generally, people mean well,
over and over life shows us this
and we all know this is true.
That's why it saddens me when I
see things go so wrong

Report
PickItDown · 27/10/2010 19:22

Its a good idea

Blogs and forums always seem
like they're written by people
out of sorts with reality
who know nothing

Good to see youknow what to do
and that you're ready at the core
of the problem to strike
the blow we need to
set the record straight

Also, I think that we probably
need like minded people to
do this with us

Doubtlessly, people will complain and
only then will we see the cause of the problem.
Needless bickering by those who can't
kick the habit of not caring
enough will only be a burden to me and
you, and it must be fought, although
stick with it, we'll win

Report
BruceBanner · 27/10/2010 19:13

PickitDown I think you are
right in every respect
I would like to see people
commit to the groupthink less and
keep more of an open mind. But
slack - that's dangereous.

Too much slack is what led to
house price bubbles
and blatant
trolling of the
seditious Kind.

What we really need, I
have to say, given the unsustainable
and future-istic nature of the hoffers is
to implement a blanket ban on free speech

What I intend to do is to monitor
every forum from now on.

Although this is a mighty undertaking, through the
redistribution of my unchallenged intellect across
each node of frivolity I will identify and castigate them all.

Tuna of course is not to be taken lightly as a topic in spite
of the carping and cod'ing of the feminist mafia
that undermine this locale at every turn. Tuna should be
admired, adored, extolled, and above all stockpiled
less the price rise in an unsustainable manner.

Prior to the massive coordinated attempt by VIs to short the
retail sector canned fish goods inventory, forums such as those
I typically frequently were trolled by estate agencies and government
controlled bulls and bankers. Now that the tunapocalypse is here we
know without any doubt that Mumsnet is populated by the agents of fish
stock manipulation associations.

Hello everyone,

I am one of those bad chaps from HPC. Let's try and be pleasant with each other here. I was having a bit of chat about Tuna, seeing as someone brought it up, what are your thoughts on this fish ?

It is not my favourite in all honestly. I prefer a white fish myself. Lovel bit of meaty cod especially.

Thoughts ?
