I think asking their sons to keep it secret was wrong though. And he is a complete arse.

I saw this whilst flicking through DM in a coffee shop this am but didn't bother to read it. It strikes me that no matter what an arse he is (which undoubtably he is) it is just undignified to be whingeing about it in the media. And if her dc's have such a crappy father who is encouraging them to lie, at least allow them a dignified mother who isn't calling their step mother a floozie in the DM. Poor kids

I'm not in the least bit surprised that he kept it secret from her if this is how she carries on. Utterlty unattractive, venomous drivel. And the young woman did not break up their relationship, Ron Liddle did.

She detailed every little tit bit about their break up and divorce so I am not surprised that Rod Liddle tried to keep his marriage a secret. Maybe he doesn't want his family life splashed all over the DM? (I am not a fan of Liddle or DM, BTW)

It's undignified and just make her sound bitter. She may feel justified in being bitter but it's not going to encourage any potential bfs to step forward is it?

She's very slim, attractive, intelligent, she should be able to meet someone much nicer than that tosser, except she's so bitter and angry there's no room for anyone else. Sad I think. Surely she was barely over 40 when they split. If she carries on like this she'll be single at 50 and more.

I vividly remember my Dad getting remarried and how awful it was ( I was 15, they'd been divorced 5 yrs) she just cares about HER.
Rod is awful for making his sons keep it a secret, but I sort of understand why..
I get she is hurt, but really, have an ounce of dignity woman.
