Cheating

My partner and I have been having some trust issues where cheating is concerned. He always says to me if I think he has ever cheated on me then we shouldn't be together? Is this a sign of denial or simply him fed up of false accusations HELP

Fed up of the relation and has or has not cheated and doesnt have the balls to end it in case hes seen as the bad guy
Or
Fed up of your accusations and hasnt cheated but getting frustrated and at tethers end with you.
