I was 11 years old, diagnosed with a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. It was (and still is, I believe) a fairly rare disorder which has a high mortality rate in children but which mostly affects young women now. Have found myself thinking about it more recently after having my baby and what my parents must have gone through, so ama!
