How long do they last?

They usually last about 6 months but some types/brands can go between 9-12 as they are firmer.

Botox you usually go back for a top up after 2 weeks then it lasts about 3 months, lasts longer the more you have it. I had it on my forehead because was getting that annoying line between my eyebrows

How much did it cost ? Are you pleased with the result ? Do you have to do it forever now, or will your looks 'go downhill ' fast, if you stop having it ?

Are you going to be addicted and need to get it forever? I want to her Botox but I'm afraid that once I start I won't be able to stop!

What do you prefer? Botox or fillers?
Do you tell people you did it or keep it quiet? Did people comment on your appearance?

Pringlemunchers-- I went to Harley Medical first with 20% off and it was around £300 for 1ml . Since then I've tried a few Wowcher/Groupon deals for about £130 for 1ml. I researched properly and none of them have been dodgy, been pleased with the results each time. I assume that if I didnt have it then my face would return to what it would have been if I had never had it, so not downhill so much as I would probably look my age.

Jennyy--- I really like how it looks so I will get it until I don't care enough about my appearance to bother, I suppose. I do wish it was permanent though! I don't spend a lot on hair/nails etc and it isn't really much different from getting that stuff topped up regularly.

They do quite different things really so it's hard to prefer one. Fillers I had for my lips cos they were thin with a downturned mouth, and in my chin cos it is receding. Botox I had cos I was getting that line in between my eyebrows.

Oh thank you. I am very interested in getting this, but I am bit worried about the cost. I am afraid that i might not be able to stop once i start, if that makes sense. I have a very deep line on my forehead , that I hate. Do you think that I would need filler and botox together ( do they do that)?

I have a really weak (double) chin Grin I'm only 25. Do you think fillers could help this??

Report
HamsterToast · 09/07/2018 11:26

Pringlemunchers-- yes it could help. Botox would freeze the area so the line doesn't get deeper. They could put fillers in too to make it less deep. With me I just had botox in the area and over time the line has got less just because I'm not moving my face in the same way.

Kittykat93- yes it can help. I have a tiny chin, it looks ok from the front but is receding from the side, I've hated it since I was 13. Fillers can shape, define your jaw and give you a more prominent chin. I've had this on mine and it's good. My chin doesn't disappear into my neck as much!

Definitely something to look into then - thank you Grin I'm getting married at the end of the year and would love some side profile photos with a half decent chin Wink

Did you experience any bruising and/or bleeding after the injections? And if so, were you able to cover it with concealer and how long before the bruising disappeared?

@Deux A couple of times with the fillers on my lips, never very bad, just covered with concealer. Lips swell a bit but go down in about a day

Thanks Hamster. I think that having it done on a Friday would be good. I do tend to bruise easily if I bump in to something so I’m concerned I’ll look like I’ve been in a fight. Smile

I LOVE my botox. Cannot believe how many people have said to me how well I'm looking in the last few months. When I disclosed to a friend that it was probably in no small part due to having had botox, she said she felt really betrayed as she had absolutely no idea!
