Happy in my role - getting out of my comfort zone

I have been approached to interview for a job and it is pencilled in for next week.

I am not sure how I feel about it:

I love my current role, I earn more than enough money, I am happy, challenged and supported.

However this other role is a step up in terms of role, £20k more and career development. It would be the type of role that I would be looking for, if I was looking.

I am a firm believer of getting out of your comfort zone - I am no where near comfortable. However it is hard starting a few job, it takes months to get up to speed and there is so many unknowns. Also after going through covid, splitting with partner and finding the right balance in my life. I am actually happy with what I have.

However I do have career goals and ambititons.

I dont want to waste peoples time interviewing if I am not truly interested.

Were you head hunted for the post? Is it quite a niche role where vacancies are few and far between? Either way if you're on the fence it'd be worth interviewing anyway and using it as an opportunity to find out more about the job and the organisation to help you make up your mind if you wanted to make the move, should you be offered the job.

It sounds like a great opportunity but if you're feeling fulfilled in your current role and could do with a period of stability after a bit of a tumultuous couple of years there's nothing wrong at all with staying put for now.
