Tips for starting new job after 18yrs in the old job

Starting a new job soon after nearly 18 years in my old workplace. We were bought out twice, I changed jobs a couple of times etc, so I've progressed my career, but within the one changing environment.

It's been a long time since I had to walk in knowing no one.

It's a senior technical role, different sector, but same technology. I guess I'll need to learn their regulatory rules, software development lifecycle, change management, project management, capex/opex/timewriting, structure, culture etc etc.

I'm just wondering how long I will have before becoming productive?

If anyone has been in the same situation, or worked with many companies, do you have any tips?

The notice period has been longer than they/I wanted, and I'm wondering if they will have a todo list waiting for me.

They are both global companies with UK offices, one HQ in the UK, the new one is US HQ, but claims a good work life balance.

I guess turn up on day one, smile be confident Smile.

I’m sure I will write the same post soon,
I’ve been in my job nearly 10 years and it’s time to move on.
But as someone who has seen a lot of colleagues come and go, I would say that generally everyone gives you around 3weeks/month to work it all out and become settled.
Wishing you the best of luck
