At what point is it more beneficial to be a company rather than self-employed?
I've been self-employed for around 10 years and have gradually worked more and more as the children have grown. This is the first year I am tipping into the higher rate tax bracket and I think it is time to set up a company - not just for tax reasons but also because I have some ideas to expand what I do.
I just don't know where to start. Do I need an accountant? If so how much will that cost annually and does this save money in the long term? I am used to handling my own tax affairs and it feels odd to hand it over but I know I could claim for more of my expenses and handle things differently.
Any advice on any aspect would be welcomed.
