What to do!

I am currently thinking about what to do with my life. My youngest child is about to leave school, and I gave up work a year ago as we moved countries. We won't go back to the UK until this time next year at least, and when we do I am unlikely to go back to the same job type as I used to do. I'm a qualified accountant but would really like to do something else. I think the problem now is my age, I am 51, and wouldn't have a clue where to start. I am trying to think of something I can do over the internet as I haven't got the proper language skills to work in this country, and also then it doesn't matter where I live if you see what I mean. Does anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks

Can you not continue to use your accountancy skills, but aim them towards a particular niche in which you have experience?

Eg, if you're strong on taxation, can you not provide tax consultancy services to other accountants? Or even tax services to Brits who've likewise moved to your current country and may need helping dealing with their dual tax status?

Plenty of scope for online accounting - I do a lot of it, I have dozens of clients throughout the UK who I've never met and where all dealings are via email or cloud book-keeping systems. You could start up a small practice whilst you're abroad and then continue it when you return to the UK. Clients don't even need to know you're not in the UK as you could use a virtual office address.

It seems a shame that you're turning your back on an accountancy qualification when you could turn it around and use it to your advantage.

Thanks, Badbadbunny, the problem with that is I worked in industry so my knowledge of corporation tax etc is pretty limited, and I qualified so long ago, that I am a bit afraid of providing accounting services to small businesses. Book keeping, yes possibly, mind you I wouldn't know where to start looking for clients.
