Food startup seeks new co-founders!

Melt and Co is a 1-year-old food startup based around the idea that indulgence can be achieved without artificial ingredients. Our aim is to bring high-quality gourmet ice lollies to the local community and beyond. (//www.meltandco.co.uk)

My name is Jonathan Church, co-founder of the business. Our initial season of trading, predominantly at markets, resulted in Melt and Co being voted a finalist in the food and drink entrepreneur of the year awards 2015. Following a change in business structure, I am now looking for two new partners/co-founders to continue the Melt and Co journey and run the business on a daily basis.

The Role

As the startup is in its infancy I am open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. It may suit recent university graduates (as we were) looking for an alternative to corporate work or perhaps an individual with some free time looking to unleash their entrepreneurial flair. If there were any criteria to meet it would be that the candidate brings enthusiasm, a base level of commercial awareness, willingness to learn on the job, and a degree of tenacity.

Some of the duties involved will be as follows:

• Actively manage the sales pipeline, exploring new sales channels and following up appropriately
• Engage in direct sales and brand promotion activities
• New and existing product development
• Marketing: social media strategy and execution
• Manage the manufacturing process or look to outsource (can be discussed)
• Building relationships with key stakeholders and the local community

Compensation

At this point in time, it is expected that it will involve a base level of expenses + equity. However, as co-founders of the business, there are a number of compensation and ownership options depending on your circumstances, which can be discussed further down the line.
