(13 Posts)Seeing the list of transgender dates compiled by anonymousLangFan on the IWD thread inspired me to collect a similar list for dates specific to women. Here's what I have so far - feel free to add to it!
Jan 7th: Distaff Day - celebrating womens' crafts & household work
Jan 11th: National Human Trafficking Awareness Day
Feb 6th: International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation
Feb 11th: International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Feb 12th: International Day of Women's Health
Feb 14th: V-Day - end violence against women & girls
March: Women's History Month
March 8th - 14th: No More Week (ending domestic violence. UK only)
May 5th: International Midwives Day
May 28th: Menstrual Hygiene Day
June 23rd: International Widow's Day
July 12th: Malala Day
Aug 1st - 7th: World Breastfeeding Week
Aug 26th: Women's Equality Day (US only)
Sept 28th: International Safe Abortion Day
Oct 11th: International Day of the Girl Child
Nov 25th: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
(While doing this, I noticed how the list of Transgender days is almost all about celebrating trans identity, while our list is largely about tackling female-specific problems.)
I think we should have a Woman: Adult Human female celebration day where we wear the t-shirts, fly the flags in celebration of our sex and raise awareness of sex specific problems. The antithesis to what IWD has become.
@BringbackLang that is a great idea! Celebrate actual women and not "woman face"!
Mother's Day? (22nd March in the U.K., lots of other dates elsewhere. )

Is there a Pride Day?
I think the Trans Day of Vusibility clashes with Mother's Day so nothing to stop us for raising a black and white definition flag to contrast with all the rainbows.
I notice how many are focused on violence against women too.
I shall be putting those on my calendar. Thanks OP
There's six months of Pride, Holy.
Friday 18 October, World Menopause Day
Thanks, OP.
