I was just reading the thread titled 'CLP motions on transmen and transwomen' and MarSeeAh made a brilliant comparison of the trans propaganda movement to George Orwell's book 1984. It's been made pretty difficult for many of us to publicly talk about our worries on facebook or twitter so how about doing it in code? If we all just posted 2+2=5 it's making a statement without actually saying anything that someone could be offended by.

I've definitely seen that on Twitter already in response to transagenda tweets, and immediately got what it meant, so yes... It works

This is an excellent response to propaganda and I subscribe to it wholeheartedly.

Oh that's great, I'm not on Twitter so wasn't aware that it's already being used.

yes that is a good idea ... also, responding to batshit trans speak I am just pasting the words "narcissistic word salad" underneath. Let THEM google it!

Oh yes we're in some kind of Orwellian nightmare indeed.

Women with penises good
Women with vaginas bad

War is peace
Freedom is slavery
Ignorance is strength

XXHelenaXX I had to google it too, i've never heard of a word salad before. That's a genius idea for a comeback comment Grin

Yes, I don’t to the Twatter, so hadn’t seen it til MarSeeAh said it earlier. And it sums it up nicely. George Orwell actually said it before he wrote 1984. In Looking back on the Spanish war he wrote ‘Nazi theory indeed specifically denies that such a thing as "the truth" exists. ... The implied objective of this line of thought is a nightmare world in which the Leader, or some ruling clique, controls not only the future but the past. If the Leader says of such and such an event, "It never happened" – well, it never happened. If he says that two and two are five – well, two and two are five. This prospect frightens me much more than bombs.’

Yes I've seen this a bit on Twitter too.

I've also seen people with "Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four" or simply 2+2=4 in their Twitter Bio's as a coded way of saying they're radfem.
