Did anyone watch this last night? (sorry can't do links). It was chilling but very educational. It's about the level of sexual abuse/sexualised behaviour children and teens are subjected to by other children/young people.

I made a post about sexual abuse in schools, last night, because I am disturbed by the rising number of assaults. More worryingly, there is a lack of protection and justice for the victim in favour of giving the perpetrator the right to an education.

The hyper sexualisation of children and young people is terrifying and I don't think schools have a clue how to deal with it. It's all become so normalised even the victims don't identify it for what it is.

I've spoken to my teenage DD's school about it (the sexualised/misogynistic culture rather than her having suffered an assault - thank god) and I think some of the staff get it but others basically collude with it. Whether it's out of lack of concern for pupils' welfare or simply being too lazy/scared to deal with it I don't know.
