Lovely.
I do wonder if these things will become normalised. They're truly grim but I posted on a thread yesterday where many women were having no issue with their partners visiting strip clubs, which seems as grim to me. I wonder if these will start just being seen as masturbatory aids for 'normal' men as opposed to 'girlfriends' for weird, loner-style men.

There's such a desire by many men to put women back in their place, I can see these, like violent porn, acting as the gateway drug in some cases.

Yuck. I totally agree with Laura Bates' point in that article. Gross.

Like a lot of things in the news at the moment, I am both totally horrified and completely unsurprised by this.

Anyone who thinks this will stop rapists as opposed to just giving them something to practice on is an imbecile.

Depressing, rather than try and get rid of the desire to want to rape give men an outlet.

The comments are predictably awful too. Either not understanding or making rape into a joke.

The tagline of the company that makes these obscene effigies is "Always Turned On and Ready to Talk or Play”. Truly, the panacea for our time - men can't escape their natural urges but what a shame women are actual people.

To ensure that there isn't any doubt what the ethos behind this company is or how they view women, here are some other quotes from the owner of the company:

"To some men, she might seem like the perfect woman: She's a willowy 5 feet 7 and 120 pounds. She'll chat with you endlessly about your interests. And she'll have sex whenever you please -- as long as her battery doesn't run out"

"She doesn't vacuum or cook, but she does almost everything else'

"Luckily, guys," he joked, "there's a button that turns that off."

Jesus Christ regrouted, that's sickening. And it will be seen as nothing but jolly japes for many people, both men and women. Beyond depressing, and terrifying

Hey, that's the perfect opportunity!

All we need is a feminist who gets a job at the factory where those things are being made and puts a chip into each of those rape robots so it can be tracked to the man who buys it.

And then we know exactly which men are rapists. Perhaps there could even be a chip that tracks which men do what to the robots.

It is a technology that can totally be used for good. (Though the company who invented it certainly won't do so of their own accord)

mmm, or even better, they could be used to re-educate men, simply fit them with electrodes that deliver a shock to the penis when used in rape mode, operant conditioning (if memory serves) will soon solve the problem.

You would not immediately passionately kiss a person that you just met on your first date. Likewise, Frigid Farrah would also tell you that she just met you if you try to 'move' too quickly," the company's representative said.

Unless Frigid Farah makes you work your way up to sex and then gives some sort of robot esque version of consent it's very obvious the point is to pretend to rape an unwilling partner. They haven't programmed her for the man to say never mind and to not wank in to it have they? Why even lie.

Either it's fake and they think it doesn't matter or it's creepy. At least be honest.

Jesus Christ.

What a time to be alive.

"Frigid Farah"?

I just can't even...
