Not all women are females

Posted on a Facebook group I'm in. I can't even respond. It's just crazy. When will people listen to what they're saying and see how insane it is?

Ps it should say veganism not feminism. They were being compared/conflated in the op and the discussion included this.

I found it interesting as it's a classic derail: you can't be feminist because you don't care about female animals.

It's come up on here I think - that feminist should be vegan because dairy/meat exploits female animals.

Seems pretty fringe.. and a bit bandwagonny/trying to hard to be inclusive/intersectional to me.

Perhaps as a feminist I should just vow to only eat veal - since I believe that's generally male calves because they're not good for anything else? I think I could spin an argument that we should support the dairy industry, since there are way more cows allowed to live to adulthood than bulls - ie. the opposite to himans.

"Not all women are female" is just nonsense. Meaningless. I'd struggle to discuss anything with someone who made such statements.

i wonder how much of this bullshit go down if not in English language. in other languages 'sex' and 'gender', or 'woman' and 'female' are the same words.

Those first 2 paragraphs are garbled rubbish.

Tut tut, that person is behind the times. Doesn't she know that TRAs have claimed the word "female" now? Therefore by insinuating that trans women are not female, she is being transphobic and should be burnt at the stake labelled a TERF

My veganism and my feminism have the same roots. That is my outrage that society is accepting and defending unjust and harmful systems that are simply indefensible. That's as far as it goes though.

When I first went vegan I joined a lot of FB groups etc. I have now left them all because they are full of fucking whackos like the example in the OP.

I am not vegan, because meat, eggs and dairy are cheap, easy to cook protein and I am poor. I know that goes against certain narratives regarding feminism being some sort of "hobby" for middle-class women who have tired of knitting, but there you go.Wink

Funny how MRAs don't self-police with increasingly strict codes - veganism, inclusive to trans men, etc etc.

Feel like I need to break out one of my everyday feminism favourites. Perhaps you can be subversive and link it! Vegans are super transexclusionary

Male chicks of egg-laying chicken breeds are killed in a horrible way, basically they are thrown into a shredder. Why do men who like their position of power in patriarchy eat eggs, then?

It is a red herring, I refuse to talk to people who talk such nonsense. I am for animal rights, too, but a woman does not have to be a vegan to be a feminist.

Men can be patriarchal without caring about animals just fine, so why should it again be women who fight for everyone's rights before our own?

i wonder how much of this bullshit go down if not in English language. in other languages 'sex' and 'gender', or 'woman' and 'female' are the same words.

Sadly, Germany managed to import the bullshit just fine, despite having only one word for sex and gender - feminists imported the word gender to talk of stereotypes and such, because "gender" is shorter than "stereotypische Geschlechterrollen", and now it is used by the genderidiocy movement.

The German words for man and male are very similar (more like man and manly) but I got still told off for saying that transwomen are "biologically male" using those words and sticking biology in front of it so that they know I am only talking of the facts, not the feelings.
