Conviction a month later

It's strange that the first newspaper somehow missed multiple rapes of young children - they had the paedophile's real name.
(assuming it is, it's hard to tell whether this is 'trans-friendly' language "The 50-year-old carried out the attacks on young boys and girls while she was living as a man called Ross Florida."
or if it implies that he was called something different previously. I suspect it is just trans language, but it's not helpful when documenting a dangerous paedophile. He was not merely 'living as a man called Ross' - he was in fact a man called Ross.
Implying that he has previous names besides Ross Florida, or that he was not in fact a man when raping multiple children is deeply unhelpful.
Why do we need to use this nonsense language to cater to the whims of child rapists? Why do child rapists get fawning profiles in the paper just because they've dressed up as a drag queen?
