There is some speculation in the article that actually the industry doesn't want to open itself up to lawsuits.

I also wonder whether there's a fear that men won't want to watch porn where the actor is wearing a condom aka showing some consideration to the risks run by his partner

Condoms cause microabrasions? As opposed to ... the macroabrasions that violently shoving a penis into someone's anus causes?

Ahahahaha.

They can block users from California all they like. Punishing porn users for legisation they don't like will achieve nothing. I bet it is not the porn users who are responsible for that bill in the first place. Perhaps they hope the porn users will resort to violence against decent people to get their porn back, but I don't think that will work out. Porn users like their violence against women to committed by others so that they can enjoy it in the safety of their own homes.
They are also probably to lazy to even organize a public protest.
