I've spent ages googling, and stalking various twitter accounts, but can't find anything!

Was a new Womens' Officer voted in at the NUS conference? If so, who is it?#

Thanks :)

Elections were only 19th-21st, no results as of yet I believe.

On that note, I'm a massive supporter for Trans rights and have argued on here about it, but I'm perplexed as to why someone who's been a 'woman' for 2 mins thinks they should have such a position; Anna Lee.

I'm pretty sure the other candidate won.

Some one posted a wee while ago she had not been elected. Was that incorrect?

I've seen posts about other successful candidates, but nothing for the womens' position. Including on Anna Lee's twitter.

Anna Lee lost. Hareem Ghani won.

It's on the NUS website here

Anna Lee congratulated Hareem on their Twitter feed on the day Hareem won.

Anna Lee confirms having lost the election here: www.facebook.com/Anna.Charlotte.Lee/posts/502487429949074?fref=nf

I'm very relieved to learn that. I think it's very telling that Anna Lee's ideal vision for the future of the NUS is for there to be a full-time Trans Officer, and a Womens' Officer who is also trans. Representation for actual women doesn't matter to him at all.

I wonder what the transactivists would make of an ordinary woman ran for Trans Officer on the basis that they don't fit the pink-box gender stereotype. It wouldn't be any more outrageous than what has actually happened here.

Ah, that's good to know. Thank you!

I'm very glad Hareem won!
