I saw this in the Sun:

www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3828291/Womens-think-tank-begs-Dont-ban-The-Suns-Page-3.html

"A WOMEN'S think-tank yesterday blasted the Lib Dems for plotting war on Page 3 ? and hailed The Sun's curvy babes as role models.
The party's po-faced conference motion this week to stop shopkeepers selling The Sun before a 9pm "watershed" was condemned by the organisation WomenOn.
...
It stressed: "Let's be honest about it ? the curvy Page 3 girls are a better role model for our teenage girls than the super-skinny models demanding our attention at London Fashion Week."

I went on the website womenon.org. Turns out it's run by a former Tory candidate. Here's a taste of what they have to offer:

"When it comes to talking about women there is only one game in town ? feminism.

But feminism is a toxic, battle-hardened and arrogant philosophy which has lost its way and is no longer fit for purpose. As a commenter in the Guardian recently noted, ?feminism is an utterly hollow identification? ? they are right."

What a lovely bunch of people. No doubt plenty of you will be rushing to sign up.

I see one of them is a UKIP member. I wonder how she gets on with Nigel Farage.

Yes let's be honest, the only role model options for girls should be models or 'glamour' models. It's either/or for sure.

Yes, what every young woman should aspire to Hmm to have no skills bar a talent for showing your tits.
I must tell DD to stop studying for her maths degree right now and take her top off instead because it's so empowering.

Even more depressing is the story of Royal Marine WAGS doing a "saucy" calendar for charity www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2040178/Royal-Marine-WAGS-raunchy-charity-calendar.html

Yes Alys, you see when it comes to role models girls can choose between "curvy" glamour models or anorexic ones, because the idea of having a female role model who is admired for, um, her intelligence is quite frankly incomprehensible! Angry

Fetishization of tits or fetishization of thin.

What a choice for the ladies eh!

That quote about feminism is vile.

That comment is really sneakily written.

OOh. Charlotte Vere's twitter feed here.

Apparently 'Feminists seem to want to desexualise society as if being sexual is a hindrance. It's nature for goodness sake!'

'my main gripe is that feminism doesn't represent ordinary women and has alienated men. A new model, will kick start things.'

And don't tell SmallWhiteCat but it seems 'feminism is resoundingly socialist - which I feel is hindering debate and hence progress.'

Oh and PMSL at them describing themselves as 'non-partisan'.

I laughed at that Beach. Not partisan but both of their biogs refer to their political party in the first lines.
