I took it away with me as holiday reading a few weeks ago but he ran out of books and started reading it himself through pure desperation. Now he can't put it down. At one point, having read about half of it he came to me and said "For your sake I think we need to split up."

Well, he'll be more ready than me for the book club, I've only managed about the first 3 chapters.

saf - I think the book has really opened his eyes to how stacked against us (wimmin) everything is, and how society is structured to favour men. I think to have it explained so eloquently has been a real eye-opener. He's got a few pages to go and feels a bit despondent I think (we were both hoping for a happy ending).

In practical terms he doesn't need to change - I'm a lazy slattern and he's been doing his own laundry since he was 12: Wifework isn't a concept that has any legs in our household.
