I'm on the verge of giving up....been very depressed, I've tried to seek help advance payment from universal credit but even when I beg and pleaded to them I got turnt away sorry for the ranting and raving but I don't know what to do. I haven't eaten for days also, beginning to feel ill.wondering if any one can help.

I’m so sorry you are in this situation, I’m not the best person to advise as I have no idea how the benefits system works but is there a crisis or emergency fund that you could apply for, food bank? Your local church may be able to help or at least point you in the direction of a charity who can assist you, hopefully someone better qualified than me will come along to advise you but I didn’t want to leave your post unanswered, don’t give up, there must be a way of accessing the help you need, things will look better in the morning, this time of night problems seem insurmountable Flowers

Please ring your local Social Services in the morning and explain your situation. You have children so will be a priority. Don't give up, fight your corner. Any one of us amy need help now and again.
Your GP surgery would be a good place to ask given you are starting to feel unwell.
Please update when you can x

Sorry to hear that. This is a guide of where to get help:

skintdad.co.uk/no-money-nothing-to-eat/

If your kids are school age let the school know. We just got a message from school today to say if you are in receipt of free school meals contact the council and they will provide them in the holidays and even if you are not in receipt contact them and they will try and help. That varies by area. If kids are younger health visitor or GP should be able to make a food bank referral.

In our area there's a village Facebook group and everyone tries to help each other out. Some businesses here are also providing free food for kids. You definitely need to eat something asap, do you have any friends / neighbours / family that could give you a bit of food - I know a few families in this situation as their kids have said to my kids and we give food to the kids at school.

Hi Septemberx, we're sorry you're going through such a worrying time.

We can see you're already getting lots of good advice and support from fellow Mumsnetters but we just wanted to add a link to our webpage on dealing with financial difficulty. It has lots of advice on dealing with debt and lists many charities and organisations which can help with financial hardship, as recommended by Mumsnetters.

It's also worth looking at the advice available on Gingerbread's site. It's a charity set up to support single-parent families and has put together this page on money in an emergency. It also has lots of information on managing money and debt

We really hope things start to get a bit easier for you soon. Flowers
