Cramping pain after sex

Looking for some advice here. Has anyone else had this?

I’m having a lot of sex with a new partner, it’s been very active, passionate, orgasmic sex. I’m not complaining about that, obviously.

But I’m getting period like cramps afterwards for a couple of hours. I’m perimenopausal, so not a period. Haven’t had one for about nine months.

We’re not using condoms so maybe prostaglandins from semen?

We’re not seeing anyone else, it’s been a while since my last partner and no such symptoms before I was with this man. He has been active more recently then me, but used condoms.

Just mild cramping, goes away with heat/ibuprofen just like period pain. Seems to happen after sex in different positions so not down to angle. He is pretty long, maybe it’s my cervix?

No bleeding, no fever, no sharp pain, nothing like cystitis for example.

Any ideas anyone?

Go and chat with your GP, it could be so many things and 100% worth getting a full check out.

I had this recently, turned out to be a polyp which they removed.

The only time I ever hot this was when I was pregnant. Have you tested op?

I occasionally end up cramps depending on what position we are in. I've had a million tests and everything is normal.
However my partner is on the larger side (if you catch my drift) and if we are in certain positions it can be tender/crampy after (cramp pain is always very mild and low abdo).

Ive not had it in ages as since we had our daughter is much less vigorous haha

Thanks everyone for answering.
Not pregnant, definitely. I probably should call the GP, I just wondered if this was maybe a result of unused muscles, maybe menopause and so on, it’s been a while!

@helpwithhouse that’s it exactly and he is definitely on the long side so maybe that’s all it is...
