Sudden bleed that isn’t a period... should I be worried?

Iv been on cerazette for over 10 years so I don’t have periods or any spotting at all. Iv not missed one as I’m like clockwork taking it. Today Iv woken with )sorry tmi) like the beginning of a period. I’m definitely not pregnant. Should i be concerned?

Few years back I had to have LEETZ due to CIN but I was in a relationship at the time and was bleeding after sex so got checked out and all was good after that. My next smear is due in October so I don’t know if being paranoid or not. Should I worry?

Probably not, could be all kind of things. You should see your GP though.

Don't worry. This sort of bleeding is incredibly common on Cerazette. I'm on Cerelle which is exactly the same sort of pill and after about 10 years of no bleeding, I had an episode where I bled on and off for a few weeks.

My gp examined me and said everything looked fine. She reassured me that irregular bleeding on progesterone only pills is really common, even if you've been on it for years with no bleeding. She referred me for a non urgent ultrasound to check if I had a fibroid but all was clear.

Thanks both, I know a few people who didn’t get on with it as they bleed a lot and randomly but Iv never bled on it at all!

No, I hadn't either! But since the episode I mentioned, I've had a fair few other similar bleeds. Think my hormones might be going a bit wonky at 44!
