4 weeks ago, I saw the GP because my nipple had disappeared and I found a lump. She referred me to the breast clinic under the 2 week wait.

The clinic did an ultrasound and there is a mass there which they thought was an abscess. They took a needle fluid aspiration and sent it off for sampling and gave me a course of really strong antibiotics. The mass was graded as a U2 on my ultrasound.

I went back today for the test results and it's not an abscess. They've taken a biopsy today but I won't get the results for another 10 days. I've had another ultrasound today and the mass is a U3. The letter from the radiographer states that it may be an inflammatory lesion or a neoplasm, both of which seem to be cancerous options according to Google (I know but I can't help it).

I now have another 10 days to wait for the results and the wait is now starting to get to me a little. The appointment on the 10th will be 38 days after the initial referral and it's just a long time to spend not knowing. My hubby is in the military and we were supposed to move to a new posting on the 21st Dec but managed to get that postponed (with the help of welfare) so Hubby will be going away on Sunday to start his new posting and I'll be home alone.

Can anyone suggest how I keep my mind off things for the next 10 days? Many thanks

Sorry you are going through this. I’ve had breast lumps that turned out to be benign but the waiting is horrible. I can only suggest trying to keep yourself occupied if you can to take your mind off it for a while. I hope it all turns out ok for you. Hugs

No advice, I had a 3 or 4 week wait. it went by in a blur.
Can you talk to anyone in real life? My friends were fantastic! There is also a really good group on here with some lovely ladies who helped keep me sane during the wait.

I’m so sorry you are having to go through this madvixen, I’ve been in your shoes and it’s horrendous... all I do know is the waiting is by far the worst bit. Sadly I was diagnosed with breast cancer nearly 10 years ago but I’m still here to tell the tale.
I used this forum.... forum.breastcancercare.org.uk/ you can ask any questions and hold hands with women who are going through exactly the same thing as you.
Wishing you a negative diagnosis and even if it does turn out to be breast cancer it really isn’t the end of the world.
Sending you a big hug. 🤗😘

OP You're welcome to come on over to the cancer support thread, for those with cancer or awaiting test results. Hopefully you won't need to be on it for long. Most lumps are not cancerous and even if they are, the successful outcome rates are very high. Lots of ladies with experience (sadly) on there.
