My breast milk has suddenly stopped

I have a DS 6 weeks old. I had a plentiful breast milk supply to the point I had to use breast pads for leakage. All of a sudden, today, after breakfast feed at 7 and another for lunch, I don't seem to have anything for him atm. I am totally dry. Weird thing is, I realised I've not had any let down pains in a while either and now really worried DS is going hungry. Any help please?!

Don’t worry! Let down pains and leaky boobs very often stop at this time. And your breasts may feel less full as they will be making more milk to order. As it were, rather than storing it up. Honestly, it’s all completely normal and good and as long as your baby doesn’t suddenly stop weeing or constantly screaming after feeding, there is nothing to worry about.

He was on my breasts for AGES this evening. I gave him an expressed feed I'd stashed away before putting him down. It really didnt feel like I was making to order, there were no milky lips on him.

Your supply will have likely adjusted down to demand. As long as he is weeing and pooping and gaining weight he should be fine.

Once your supply becomes established you shouldn't fill up first. Your baby will soon tell you if there is no milk. Let him feed as much as he wants to increase supply. As long as he's doing nappies things are good.

The other posters are correct. Your milk hasn't run out, it's just adapting supply to demand better. It does feel very different to the early days when you're spurting milk across the room!

It's perfectly normal. Agree with what previous posters have said about wet nappies.

At 6 weeks he's cluster feeding to build up demand. He doesn't have visible milk as he's continuing to drink as milk is made so is only getting tiny mouthfuls (not a problem as he just drank the entire supply).

It will stop soon, and once your supply is settled you won't have rock hard boobs all the time either.

As long as he's still having wet and dirty nappies he is eating enough. Cluster feeding just makes everyone doubt that there's enough milk!
