And have read all of Kathy Reichs. What else might I like?
I enjoy crime fiction but not too gory.
Also enjoy Donna Leon, Harlen Coben and Robert B Parker.

Robert Goddard - esp his early ones, Into the Blue, Past Caring, In Pale Battalions. These are good reads if you commute and need something to pickup/putdown.

Mo Hayder. Similarly disgusting in places to Patricia Cornwell. I'd give Tokyo and Pig Island a miss, but the cop series starting with Birdman is fab. Gruesome, but fab.

Alex Kava is good too.

Sophie Hannah is nice and psychological too.

Managed to get to the library today. Forgot the list of course. Only remembered Mo Hayder, probably as it was the last one and got Ritual. Have started it already.
Thanks everyone for suggestions. I will have enough to keep me going for ages as long as the library has stock.

Sorry to highjack. Anyone read Faye Kellerman 'Straight into darkness?'. Did anyone get it?

Michael Connelly
Dennis Lehane - Kenzie & Gennaro series

Richard Montanari - series of murder mysteries set in Baltimore or Philadelphia (can't remember which) - the first in the series is called 'The Rosary Girls'.
Stuart MacBride - police series set in Aberdeen - first in the series is 'Cold Granite'.
Also Jonathan Kellerman - series about a child psychologist who helps LA police with investigations. I've found this series a bit hard to keep track of as I read them out of order.

I am reading 'The Rosary Girls' at the moment and enjoying it so far. Jonathon and Faye Kellerman are both good. I have also enjoyed Scott Mariani's books about an ex sas guy who now rescues kidnap victims.

Another vote for tess gerritsen, also karin slaughter (fab, just discovered these, loved them, especially skin privlege, helps to read them in order though) and harlan coben, oh and val mcdermid! There is too many to mention! (smile)

John Lescroart books are also fab. I started with the 13th Juror - an excellent read. Another vote for Harlen Coben & Val McDermid as well.

I have been dissapointed with the diminishing quality of Cornewll's books as the series has gone on. Her early books were second to none however I find her more recent books barely readable (I still persevere!). How do you find them?

I agree with you mumtoabeautifulbabyboy, I read all of her books avidly once I discovered her. I couldn't get enough.

Now though, when she brings out a new one, I end up thinking I've read it before. Too much to a formula now I think.

I'm off to the library with some of the suggestions above
