Anyone else struggling with Corvus?

My mother recommended this in glowing terms but I just can't get into it. The parts which are straight anecdote are great but the huge bits of philosophising and scientific stuff have me bogged down. I think some of it could go straight into Pseuds Corner.
Anyone else reading this or read?
I'm off to nursery now but back on later.

It was Radio 4s book of the week or summat too.
Struggled through afew more pages last night. I love my mum.
We both thought Wallender tedious though.
