What we're reading

I've never read a harry potter book. I'm a bit late now, aren't I?

Not if you can insulate yourself from the inevitable spoiler threads that will result. I think they are classics so, like Narnia, people will be reading them for decades and not worrying about the hype surrounding the final book. Just take them one at a time and avoid any spoilers!

Nonsense. Just read two a day for the next three days and you'll have caught up in time for the new one

You could become the first ever person to read them all backwards, starting with the last.

Or don't bother. I think they're pants.

I'm serious, Oggs, that is what I'm considering. We have a 24-hour Tesco within 20 miles.....surely they'll stock the whole range? I can't bear reading series of books piecemeal - at least Tolkein had the decency to die (thereby precluding any further sequels)before I started his lot. I'm now getting irked at the thought of there being some great end-of-series secret that I'll know before I start. This is worse than that Titanic film.

I've ordered the new one, but I'm not actually going to read it yet.
It's ages since I read some of them and I've decided to go back to the beginning and read them all again first.

Actually the plan was to have done that before Sat, and I've yet to start .

It's not so bad as we don't have tv reception so I'm less likely to see/hear a spoiler. I'm hoping to avoid the inevitable threads on here, and am keeping my fingers crossed that some buffoon doesn't put a spoiler in the thread title. Unlikely I know
