(8 Posts)So I have already had success in the tv board naming a tv show so now to try here!
A couple of months ago this book was advertised on my kindle. I’ve not read it so just got the blurb bit to go on.
It’s about an man and his wife (possibly 2nd wife) and mans mother. Think it’s a mystery/thriller type thing
Mil and poss step children don’t want wife there. Mil is obsessed with her son doesn’t think wife is good enough type thing I think.
Seem to remember the front cover may have had a door way with a figure behind a net curtain that was billowing.
Sorry that’s a really crap description thought. I had added it to my reading list but didn’t. Thanks
Is Philippa Gregory The Little House? Haven't read it but remember the advert for the tv adaptation which seems to be similar to what you are describing.
Could it be Liar by KL Slater?
I've read it, and it's about a man whose wife has died and he's raising his two young sons alone with the help of his mother.
He meets a new girlfriend and she and his mother clash. They both seem a bit obsessed with being the only woman in his life.
I bought it on Kindle but googling it brings up a picture of a little boy in red with his face covered by a net curtain.
There's also a similar sounding book called The Girlfriend, by Michelle Francis, but that cover has a woman in a swimming pool.
Thank you for all your help. I thought it might have been the girlfriend but no.
I have found it though and sorry not really like my description at all it’s the other woman by Sandi jones.
Will give the other suggestions a loom thanks.
What did you think to the girlfriend? It’s on my list to read
Emily Barr the first wife?
I haven't read The Girlfriend yet, it's also on my list. I did download it to my Kindle but then never got around to it.
The KL Slater was okay but I find her books a bit hit and miss.
