I can't believe that this series has totally passed me by. I am ashamed to admit that I hadn't even heard of Jasper Fforde or Thursday Next until I watched Mastermind last week.

It's the first time that a specialist topic has intrigued me enough to want to find out more. I'm about half-way through The Eyre Affair and absolutely loving it. Very funny and very clever - although it's so full of literary (and other) references that I'm sure that I must be missing loads.

Yes! I’ve read about 4 or 5 of them I think! They’re very good fun Smile

Read them all and love them! I usually only read crime/thriller books so it was a break from my usual genre but I loved them

The nursery crime ones are really good too, unfortunately there's only 2 of them but they are well worth a read 😊

In fact I'm going to re read them all, which is a first for me!

I like them too. They are good to re-read too as I've always 'got' jokes that I missed the first time because I've read or watched something in the meantime that I hadn't originally. (Sorry that sentence is hideous but hopefully understandable). The only bad thing is that Jasper Fforde is not particularly prolific so there are HUGE waits for the next book.

I have just bought first one to reread as its been a while. I love them and its one of the few authors that both me and DH like.

I love jasper fforde and Thursday next! The next book in my pile to read is The Well of Lost Plots, which will, as ever, make me crave a pet dodo Smile. I loved his Shades of Grey (not 50!). It's not in the Thursday next series but it's equally good-weird.

I love Jasper Fforde. He has a new one out this year about a world where humans hibernate called Early Riser. I would love the next one in the shades of grey series.

I love Jasper Ffordde but wish he could focus and write a bit quicker and focus! He's always got at least three different series going on!
Early riser sounds great, but has been put back twice or three times since it was announced

Love The Eyre Affair. I've read the second one but not the third one yet - may need to re-read the others first.
Also enjoyed the nursery rhyme ones.

It sounds like I've got a lot more to look forward to. Smile

Yes I really liked the Thursday Next ones a few years ago. Didn’t get on with some of his others though!

I LOVE The Eyre Affair but I think it's his best one...

Forgot I had the eyre affair on my kindle. Started reading last and it's really good isn't it?! Not sure why I didn't read it when I bought it.

Yes, DH and I love Jasper Fforde's books. We started on The Big Over Easy - so clever - before reading the Thursday Next ones. Very witty and great when you don't want anything too serious.

Yes! I love these books. I also really enjoyed the nursery crime series and shades of grey.
It's been a while since I read them, I think I will have to dig them out and read them again!

Yes! I've just reread all the Thursday books. I'm hoping he'll do the next one once Early Riser's out.

I got all but 3 of the questions on Mastermind. Jasper Fforde congratulated the contestant on Twitter for getting more right answers than he did.

Loved John Humphries' comment about not understanding a single one of the questions Grin

I'm in the middle of re-reading the Thursday Next series. I love it. I just wish he'd get around to writing the last one. It's been so long that I think it's a bit unlikely now though.
I really like the Nursery Crime books too. 😊

Like someone else said up thread, Jasper Fforde books are the only books both DH and I enjoy!

Yes! Only read the one, but I'm going to get some more. The Martin Chuzzlewit one.

Love Jasper Fforde. The Eyre Affair is amazing. Some of the Thursday Next books aren’t as good but I love the series.
Like others said I’d love another Shades of Grey too but not sure it will happen
