Anyone have these? Are the stories/writing any good? Is there one suitable for an 11yo?

I have ordered the chocolate factory personalised one for an 11 year old and it is lovely and the story is brilliant. Would definitely recommend that one. You can even add other members of the family to it. Hope that helps

I buy these for my nieces and nephews because they really love them - they all now have "The Boy/Girl who Lost His/Her Name", "The Birthday Thief", "The Intergalactic Journey Home" and I have "The Kingdom of You" on order for them for christmas.

They are really good quality books, you can change a lot of things things in them - not just the child's name/character- eg with the Lost Name book you have a choice of two characters for each letter (unless your child has the same letter multiple times in their name eg Matthew/Sarah, in which case you can just decide on the order the characters appear)

I also love that in the front, on the dedication page you can give them a personalised message that will be printed into the book. You can now get various different packages - hard or soft cover, a special keepsake box, different paper, gift wrapping etc - but because I bought the first Lost Name book when they were still a small operation that only did the one book and only offered it as a soft cover I have always stuck with that format so that all of the books are the same and are clearly a "set".

Thanks! I worried that they might be too cheesy, juvenile or have feeble plots. I might order one for my 11yo.
