I saw her recommended on a thread (The Handmaids Tale?) and am about a third of the way through 'They were sisters'.

I'm typically into dystopian novels but fancied a change.. this is keeping me occupied on my hols .. thanks to whoever recommended it!

I wrote a thread like this just recently! In fact I thought this was my thread. I read Greenbanks the other day. I'm going to intersperse her others to savour them properly. Smile

Ahhh!! Thanks for the link purpleflower . I will look through it..

tobee .. how funny! I was looking for something a little different to get absorbed in.. I think I may have found it. I know what you mean about eeking out.. I'm conscious of not binge reading too quickly

Ooooh, I saw the recommendation too and have now read two of hers.

I really like High Wages, though that was probably because it is was set in a Northern industrial town.

I've just finished 'they were sisters'.. it's been a long time since I've read a book without an apocalypse or zombie in it!

Loved it..couldn't put it down. The characters were so vibrantly written... it was like watching telly in my mind!!

What other one have you read ?

I love Greenbanks, such a lovely, gentle novel. Will start the priory soon. Persephone bookshop is wonderful. I'm starting a little collection!

The Priory is brilliant! Haven't read the others but will get They Were Sisters after reading this thread. Thank you!
