i think I fell in live with a shop on Wednesday if that is at all possible, my DH for Christmas gave me a ending spa at this truly amazing shop, it was such an amazing experience, really focussed what I like reading and why and the selections that were made for me will keep me going for a while, I just couldn't carry them all home on the train.

For those of you who live in Bath what an amazing shop y have and I really, really envy you but on the other hand very glad I don't live closer as I think I would be very skint, very soon Grin

Me! Me! I am currently coming to the end of my reading year. Just the BEST present (DH bought it for my birthday a year after I bought it for him and it was such a great success). I have discovered some great new authors and gone on to recommend the Fifa to others who have bought them (spa and reading year) as presents. Such a great idea and I don't know why others don't offer it too.
Just wished I lived close to Bath.....

I love Mr B's (as do my book-mad children). Bath is just a 45 min drive away and our nearest (nice) city - I absolutely love browsing there. I have coffee in Bertinet's to start, then a little browse in Mr B's, a pootle round the lovely shops and straight back home for school pick-up - it's my once a week treat!

Breaking cover to say: I bought the Mr B's book spa for my DH's birthday and it was BRILLIANT. What an amazing shop. The staff are so lovely. I also ended up spending too much money in there myself. Am hoping DH takes the hint and buys me the same for my birthday. I recommend Colonna & Small's round the corner for excellent, bastard-strong coffee.

Mr B's is wonderful. I'm never happier than when I'm in that shop. The staff are brilliant and have the most marvellous knowledge and taste in books. I feel utterly privileged to have just moved to a village near Bath so I can visit whenever I need to (and it is "need", not "want" Grin)

They do book spas for kids too.

Thankful it wasn't there when we lived in Bath, would have spent a fortune.Grin

A friend of mine posted a pic of her book spa pile on Facebook, was really impressed with their recommendations.

It makes a cameo appearance in Emma Newman's Between Two Thorns fantasy series with an alternate Bath linked to the mundane world.

I like the idea of a book spa but worry that I'd sit down for chat and forget to mention half the stuff I really like and then kick myself.

Or that they'd come back with a gigantic pile that I knew was just perfect because I'd read them all already Grin

My favourite book shop also. We live about 40 minutes drive from Bath. For a special treat on a Saturday we get kids and dogs in the car, drive to Solsbury Hill for a lovely windy walk (includes fantasy indulgence about when we win the lottery so we can buy the house at the top of the road), then into town. Park outside Schwartz Bros on Walcot St then straight to Mr B's to revel in books. The dogs are allowed to come in too and we always come away with some new treasures.

I have bought DH a MrB's book club subscription for his birthday next week. He didn't notice me arranging it because he was busy reading by the fire upstairs. He's going to love it, I'm very excited for his birthday!
