Marge Piercy - Vida or any others?

I have just started Vida after about 25 years after reading it for the first time.

Dated but not dated in places. Anyone else read any Marge? Woman on the Edge of Time was not for me.

I was also into Marge Piercy about 25 or 30 years ago! Haven't read any for a very long time. Vida was my out-and-out favourite and like you, I didn't get on with Woman on the Edge of Time.

I read WotEoT and loved it. The only other novel I read by her was about a golem. I can't remember the title.

I really like Body of Glass which was sequel to woman on the edge of time, I think its one of my all time fave books, and so many of the sic fi things seem to be happening now in one way or another.

The other one of hers that I loved was Gone to Soldiers, but its massive.

I liked her so much that I went to a reading she gave at the Edinburgh Festival a few years ago, but sadly she was really whiney about Edinburgh and the venue, it kind of put me off her a bit.

WOTEOT was life changing for me, in SO many ways. I absolutely adore it.
I own all her books and re-read them every now and again.

As someone said earlier, so much seen as fantasy in the past is coming true.
Terrifying.

I would recommend Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk for utopian/dystopian fantasy.

Oh, I love Woman on the Edge of Time, too - I love the fact that the future is very much a utopia as seen from the date of composition. The only other one of hers I've read since my student days is Summer People, which is much more traditional, but interesting - set on Cape Cod in the 80s, with the main characters the three members of a menage-a-trois beginning to break up.

How nice to meet other MP fans.

Absolutely loved Woman on the Edge of Time too! Read several more but memory fails me sadly. Not sure I realised Body of Glass was a sequel so will go away and look that up now...

I have all of hers....I must reread them.
Fly away home was good.
