Suggestions please for a chunky book?

I am a fast reader and am looking for a challenge. Any suggestions for an epic read? I loved The Stand but have exhausted all Stephen King books. I just want something I will finish in one sitting..

Bought for me one Christmas by my DM who went into the shop and asked "what's the thickest book you have". It lasted me all the way to New Years Day.

It's also a pretty good book, although more historical/literary fiction than Stephen King-esque.

Another excellent door stopper I've read in recent times is The Children's Book by AS Byatt www.theguardian.com/books/2009/may/09/as-byatt-childrens-book. If you've ever visited the V&A there's the added bonus of the many scenes set in it.

Luminieres is very chunky. I've also just caned and loved and cried through 'the narrow road to the deep north', won the Booker last year. One of the most beautiful books I've ever read.

Yes to, 'The Passage' and its follow up, 'The Twelve.' They are by Justin Cronin.

'Pillars of the Earth' is a fatty and is quite diverting, but not terribly well written. I thought the follow up to it, which I have forgotten the name of, was awful though.
