(11 Posts)I've read this rather quickly and in half term with 4 kids at home so I think I may have missed some points but I think Phil was actually her Dad, is that right?!!
Im glad you started this thread as I was confused too but I think you are right... Bit of a letdown IMO and didn't totally make sense to me...
The man she thought was her step dad.
Yes, Phil was the man who she thought was her step dad. I need to go back to start as I can't remember why it was thought he wasn't and did he think he wasn't from when she was born too and what an impact that had on their lives. But it's only a book I suppose!!!
What did peo
What did people think of the book?
I actually really enjoyed it but I did keep thinking all the way through 'they are so going to make this into a film'. I have been watching 'The bridge' and can see how having a friend or partner with aspergers would be refreshing, if that doesn't sound patronising.
Yes it was Phil, she didn't think he was her dad because her mum told her he wasn't. The mum came to the conclusion based on Rosies eye colour being different from both parents.
I loved the book but couldnt help picturing Don to look like Mos from the IT croud!
I thought it was obvious from quite early on that Phil was going to turn out to be her dad! Still enjoyed it though. (And there were a couple of red herrings where it looked as if either Gene or the guy who was slightly threatening towards Don was going to be the dad.)
I kept imagining it as a film too - possibly a reflection of the fact that it apparently started life as a filmscript before becoming a novel.
I have no visible hair on my thighs but they are a bit pimply ( I have a bit of Keratosis pilaris-sp?). But my calves compete with DH if left wild. I think epilator may be the thing to try. Thanks.
Ha ha! Wrong thread, lol !
